Perfect day dawned, new & bright;
A sinful choice fled the light.
World turns its back on right;
Crawls in dust towards the night.
Dim, defiant figures of dirt;
Churn about, hurting & hurt.
Stumbling, wandering, writhing soil;
Waging war, painful toil.
Striving, building – all in vain;
No light of truth, quite insane.
Moon bears witness, reflects the source;
World continues its futile course.
Pretty crust fades on the tilted globe;
Burns within, without hope.
Light in flesh came disguised;
Crossed into darkness & was despised.
Calling the world back round the bright side;
To leave the darkness, hate & pride.
Illumined Word – instruction & warning;
Darkness will end, new day’s dawning.
Piercing rays, heart shadows judged;
Nowhere to hide, man O’ dust.
Turn from darkness, face the East;
Accept the Light’s offer of peace.
Dark will only lead to wrath;
Escape the lighted narrow path.
Pure Light to reign, Morning Star rising;
End of night on the horizon.
A sinful choice fled the light.

And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever. – Rev 22.5
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – Jn 8.12
In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it… The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. – Jn 1.4-5, 9-11
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God. – Jn 3.16-21
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” – Rev 22.16
