Political Worldviews
One of the unfortunate & ironic things about our society is that it’s politically incorrect to talk about politics. Mention one of the parties, any of their office holders or candidates & you can sense the uneasiness in mixed company. So to maintain a social comfort level – heaven forbid someone be offended – politics are avoided altogether. Meanwhile in the void of useful discussion, monumental changes in politics & in our nation have occurred in the recent past.
While the average American may be too pre-occupied with life's daily demands or maintaining their ease to care about politics & what’s behind all the monkeyshines, you have landed here. And if you keep reading, you will learn about the worldviews (~philosophical ideologies) that are generally represented by the Democratic & Republican Parties. This is merely a candid look at what is behind these 2 parties & why their proponents do what they do.
Because political issues are often clouded by biases, incomplete information & misinformation, I find it most helpful to look at the foundational worldviews that underpin the parties to more clearly understand what’s going on. Understand what principals the parties & politicians stand on & you will understand what they will stand for.
Some may say it’s not fair to generalize or stereotype people or politicians. Well, they have already done that themselves by lining up with a political party. That’s why there are party platforms. That’s why votes on big issues follow party lines. So let’s understand why.
Sure, you can always find outliers, but they are recognized by their non-conformance to the standard party line. And while not every person (elected or citizen) in either party would hold 100% of the views noted here, they would more or less line up under one or the other.
So I say provide citizens the information that political correctness has robbed them of & they can better understand how to be politically involved – such as by voting, contacting their representatives on issues or to just start talking about it. So do yourself a favor & get informed!
