The Shore
30-Jan-05
Many people try to get into heaven by doing “good” works or being “good” enough (Mark 10:18, Isaiah 64:6). This is like standing at the shore of a great ocean and attempting to swim across on your own. There are also those who try to build their own boats to cross that carry many people. They try with full force to cross, but do not realize that they are still tied to the dock. These boats are the various false religions of the world. There are also those who never go to the shore or attempt to cross and these are the people who choose not to believe in God or heaven. But then there is Jesus, coming as an ark not unlike that of the great flood. He has enough room for everyone, but only those who believed He was coming can come aboard. This ark has not come from this shore, but has come from the other continent and has already proven that it is more than capable of the voyage.
