Conclusion on Political Worldviews
One can’t help but notice the stark contrast between the worldviews of the modern day Democratic & Republican Parties. Now you can see why there is so much division & struggle in government – these 2 worldviews couldn’t be more divergent. And not only are they divergent, they are increasingly divergent.
The worldview of the Republican Party is in keeping with that of America’s founding fathers which is based on the Christian religion. While more than a few Republicans have drifted from a purely Christian worldview (and certainly not all are Christians), the party largely holds to what has been outlined thus far. But the Democratic worldview has changed dramatically.
Technically, you could say the Democratic worldview has been the same, but the way it manifests itself is increasingly radical & consequently gets further & further away from the Republican worldview. It is understandable why this happens. Because it is not based on any absolute truth, it continually redefines itself – according to its own standard – because it (government) is its own highest authority. This may sound like it might continually improve itself – that’s why they call themselves “progressives” – but the further you get away from the truth, the more absurd you get – even justifying the most wicked & disastrous things (i.e. 19th century Democrats supported slavery, 20th century Democrats began supporting abortion, 21st century Democrats support election fraud). This divergent worldview necessarily will cause problems to any citizens trying to live in a reality of absolute truth.
This is primarily because the Democratic worldview is based on the religion of secular humanism. It is most dangerous because this religion doesn’t look or act like other religions. Therefore, it creeps in & installs itself unassumingly, then incubates & grows uncontrollably. Because the Democratic worldview insists the government change society towards a utopia, it injects itself into more & more areas of life through innumerable regulations & programs. As it does so, it necessarily asserts its belief system to determine what is “right” for its citizens & increasingly encroaches on their personal beliefs & freedoms. Thus you have the government establishment of the religion of secular humanism. This stands in stark contrast to the Republican worldview which limits government & minimizes the potential for conflict with & intrusion on its citizens.
But the Democratic worldview is not new. It’s the same basic worldview that is behind Communism. For humanists, the government is extremely important & is why they will do & justify all they can to gain or maintain control. And when they have it, they will relentlessly pursue societal change – they never stop & then will criticize Republicans for “not having a plan”. Often times, this is because Republicans aren’t trying to expand government & do not feel it’s the solution to all of life’s problems. Meanwhile, Republican voters may get fired up for an election, but often fail to stay engaged in politics because that is not where they are looking to get “hope & change”. Consequently, the Democrats press their relentless pursuit. Thus, if Republicans ever hope to gain ground, citizens & officials need to stay the fight & never give up.
Therefore, citizens certainly should get engaged & take action as necessary. But no one should put their trust in government or politicians – Democrat or Republican – to solve governmental, personal or societal problems. Government is tainted by agendas, special interests, conflicts of interest & lust for power. And please don’t trust that we have a “system of checks & balances” that will somehow protect us – that is broken because the people in the system are broken. We need to put our trust in something much bigger and much better.
There’s so much more to Christianity than the Republican worldview – there is the entire Christian worldview. It explains that God graciously created all of humanity with extraordinary abilities & worth. It also explains why there are so many problems in this world – sin. Sin is breaking Almighty God’s moral law & we are all guilty of breaking some portion of it (1 Jn 3.4, Eccl 7.20, Jas 2.10). In our sinfulness, we rebel against a holy God & seek to define our own morality – and it’s so bad, we don’t even realize it or care (Ps 36.1-4). Because God loves us, He setup a standard for us to live by that is for our own good & for His honor. When we sin & abandon His standard, we open ourselves up to many problems – the biggest of which is separation from God - cutting off true spiritual life with Him (Isa 59.2, Eph 2.12). Our sin & rebellion against God places us under His wrath.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. – Jesus in Jn 3.36
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. – Heb 10.26-27
Unless your status changes, you will be subject to God’s full wrath eternally in a place called hell (2 Thes 1.8-9). But the reason Christians worship & follow Christ is because He made a way for our status to be changed. When Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, came to Earth, He lived a perfect life & then He willingly sacrificed His own life being betrayed, brutally scourged & killed by crucifixion. After dying on a cross, He was buried, but it didn’t end there. Just as He predicted, He came back alive (resurrected) after 3 days, then later returned to heaven.
God’s way to save someone from their sin & His wrath is for each individual to recognize their sin, then to trust that Jesus died in their place as punishment for their sin & that He was raised from the dead to give them eternal life with Him. Jesus’s death was the price for the forgiveness of your sins & His perfect life is the qualification for restoring you to God. God’s gracious, unearned gift provides life with God eternally & right now!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. – Jesus in Jn 3.16-18
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit – 1 Pet 3.18
If you have never done that, what are you waiting for? God can save you & empower you to overcome sin & guilt, while giving you new desires to please Him. Call out to God right now, confessing your sin & your trust in Jesus to save you! Why would anyone want to miss out on that & continue in their sin against a gracious & holy God that everyone will stand in front of to give an account for their life? Trust in Jesus, read God’s words to us in the Bible, join a church that teaches the Bible & seek God each day for wisdom & direction. It will be the greatest joy of your life!
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. – Acts 4.12
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. – Pr 29.25
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. - Pr 14.34
